Kelly Goto
Principal & CEO
Kelly is the principal and founder of gotomedia, a San Francisco-based strategic consultancy specializing in user experience, research and interaction design. As a design ethnographer, Kelly continues to seek new methods of applying research-oriented design to interfaces, products, and mobile devices for clients such as Adobe, Apple, Macromedia, Veritas, and Bearing Point. With over 16 years of experience in the industry, Kelly has worked as a strategist and consultant for companies such as Verizon Wireless, Warner Bros. Online, the Blue Cross, Genentech and Wells Fargo. Kelly is a sought after international lecturer on the topics of branding, user experience, usability and design ethnography. Her book, Web Redesign: Workflow that Works is currently a best seller in the technology industry and has quickly become a standard for workflow and user-centered design principles.
Serena Howeth
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
As gotomedia's Creative Director, Serena merges design, strategy and research into innovative client solutions. Her expertise in information design, usability and visual design ensures the user experience of web and product interfaces evokes a positive brand experience. Serena oversees the information design, visual design and usability from discovery to delivery. Serena has worked with clients such as Adobe, Apple, Veritas, WebEx and the FDIC to ensure their vision is met or exceeded with every deliverable. She has received recognition and numerous awards for her web design skills including the NewMedia Invision Gold Award, How Design Interactive Design Annual Merit Award, International Web Page Award for creative Excellence, About. com Best of the Net and Yahoo! Pick of the Week. Serena graduated with honors from San Francisco State University with a BA in Design and Industry and a minor in Conceptual/Information Arts.
Sean Dolan
Senior Experience Architect
With over 12 years of experience in a variety of settings (7 years in the web / technology sector), Sean has consistently developed projects that successfully synthesized marketing, technology and user goals from concept to launch. Sean excels in hands-on situations that take advantage of his information design skills and business savvy to develop innovative projects on time and to specification. He has worked extensively on user-centered projects as an information architect, user experience associate and project manager. In addition to his work with gotomedia, Sean continues to work with Lens Ventures on The Markle Foundation's Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. Sean was formerly the Director of Project Management at multi-national firm Idea Integration. As Executive Producer at Food.com, Sean was in charge of defining the entire user experience. Prior to joining Food.com, Sean also served as a Senior Producer at AOL/Digital City. Sean graduated with honors from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Nicole Armbruster
Research & Usability Associate
Nicole serves as gotomedia's Research and Usability Associate, handling usability testing, contextual inquiry and ethnographic-based studies, both in the United States and abroad. Nicole´s background is steeped in both industrial Psychology and Cognitive Science. In Sydney, Australia, Nicole was employed by Performance Technologies Group, a well-known usability firm specializing in business applications development and usability testing. She has also worked as a research assistant with the Fraunhofer Society (inventors of the MP3 format) on their Usability Engineering and Mobile Devices Team and at The Argonauts 360°, a German marketing agency where she conducted usability testing on CRM applications and smart phones. While finishing her graduate degree in Psychology in Germany, she freelanced for MagicMaps, a navigation systems and digital maps design firm, performing application interface expert evaluation. Nicole holds a graduate degree and has completed her masters thesis in Psychology from Albert-Ludwigs-University, Freiburg, Germany, which compares the efficiency of various usability test methods.
Lisa Crosina
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
As Director of Operations at gotomedia, Lisa is responsible for overseeing the business administration and office management of gotomedia which includes project and resource oversight and supporting business development. She is responsible for process efficiencies and project tracking. She provides guidance on day-to-day issues for contractors, staff, vendors, and clients. She also provides production management when needed. Lisa facilitates communication between the design and production teams. She also works to coordinate stages of development, from protosite and testing to final implementation, including quality assurance and accessibility testing. As former webmaster at Northpoint Communications, Lisa brings her background in interaction design and project management to the gotomedia team. Lisa is a graduate of San Francisco State with a BS in Business/Marketing.
Rachel Kalman
Sr. Interaction Designer
Rachel Kalman has been part of the gotomedia team since the company's inception. As a designer and information architect at gotomedia, Rachel merges the technical with the accessible. With over five years of experience in web development from HTML to DHTML, Javascript and CSS, Rachel applies her expertise and background to each gotomedia project with attention to detail, standards and compatibility. At gotomedia, Rachel has expanded her capabilities to include information design, usability, and accessibility. Before coming to gotomedia, Rachel acted as a production artist and visual designer at Idea Integration, a multi-disciplinary national web development company. Rachel has a B.A. in French and Anthropology from Vassar College.
Jeffrey Chiang
INTERACTION DESIGNER
As a Designer at gotomedia, Jeffrey provides visual interface design, html programming and scripting for websites and mobile devices. Jeffrey also provides information architecture and guidance on the usages of web standards for gotomedia's web projects. Jeffrey immerses himself in the latest multimedia developments -- with a passion for current technologies and design trends. He is fascinated with Japanese culture including design, music and especially food. Jeffrey grew up in Taiwan and moved to the United States in 1999. In Taiwan, Jeffrey studied painting and sculpture. In the U.S., Jeffrey studied at the California College of the Arts from 2000 - 2004, honing his conceptual design and technical skills. While attending the University, Jeffrey along with web team redesigned the CCA website which has won various awards. Jeffrey also creates effective animations and interactive experiences using Flash.
