Challenge

Create a compelling online presence that expresses Portfolio 21's focus towards sustainability and environmentally conscious investment strategies.

For the redesign of Portfolio 21's corporate website, gotomedia helped to create an online brand presence that matched the company's core values and philosophy. Portfolio 21 differentiates itself from other sustainable mutual funds by combining performance with a strict environmentally-focused selection criteria - resulting in consistent positive returns. However the corporate website and marketing materials did not match the company's focus on innovation, sustainability and trustworthiness. In addition, the site did not provide adequate information for potential customers to make informed investment decisions.

gotomedia collaborated with the Portfolio 21 team to identify top business goals and clarify key user tasks for the updated website. Improved site architecture, a streamlined application process, and information targeted to a range of investors resulted in greater user satisfaction and fewer customer service calls. The updated site structure also made it more efficient for the internal web team to update timely materials and automated many of the processes that previously required time consuming manual updates.

The new website reflected a fresh, contemporary, innovative look and feel, while also conveying a professional, trustworthy character. The updated website effectively provided competitive differentiation, while beautifully articulating the Portfolio 21 brand.
